URI can benefit from Feinstein annual challenge

KINGSTON, R.I. –November 29, 2007—University of Rhode Island alumni thinking about donating to their alma mater are being offered an incentive to donate before the end of the year.

The Feinstein Foundation has once again challenged donors to give generously this holiday season. To promote philanthropy, the Foundation is giving away $100,000 to non-profit agencies and schools in the state, including URI.

Donations made to the Fund for URI will get some of the Feinstein $100,000 added to it. Non-profit agencies and schools using the Feinstein annual challenge in the past have reported increased donations.

The Feinstein $100,000 will be divided among all the non-profits that promote the opportunity. The offer is not a matching gift program and donors will not receive matching gift credit.

The bottom line: Any donation made to the Fund for URI between November 1 and December 31 will get some of the Feinstein $100,000. More donations will mean more money for URI.

The Fund for URI provides critical support for students, faculty, and alumni programs. Contributions to the fund provide flexible funding that can be put to immediate use. There are a variety of areas that donors can direct their gifts. For more details or to make a gift securely online, go to advance.uri.edu/giveonline.

Donors can also make a check payable to the University of Rhode Island with a note designating how the gift should be credited and mail to P.O. Box 1820, Kingston, R.I. 02881. For more information, contact Sarah Howard at 401-874-2438.
