URI chief to become chef on Presidents’ Day

President Carothers to cook his favorite dish for students


WHO: University of Rhode Island President Robert L. Carothers, students and URI Dining Services staff.


WHAT: Students invited to have their University president cook for them on Presidents’ Day. Carothers will prepare his favorite dish–penne with vegetables and shrimp in a seasoned butter sauce. Dining Services Director Kathleen Gianquitti will present Carothers with his own personal chef’s hat and chef’s jacket emblazoned with “Chef Bob.”


WHEN: Monday, Feb. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.


WHERE: Hope Commons Dining Center, 19 Butterfield, Road, at the Home Style station in Mainfare, second floor of Hope Commons.
