URI economist: ‘R.I.’s year from hell continued in Sept.’

WHAT: Rhode Island’s abysmal year continued in September. The state’s unemployment rate, 8.8 percent in September, led the nation, beating even Michigan. As bad as September’s unemployment rate was, it isn’t finished rising.
