WHO: Veterans from the VA Medical Center, Providence, and kindergarten students from the Meadowbrook Waldorf School, Kingston, along with URI students and Master Gardeners.


WHAT: The volunteers will harvest apples from the URI orchards for distribution to food pantries in Rhode Island.


WHEN: Friday, Oct. 9 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. (school children) and Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (veterans).


WHERE: The orchards at the rear of URI’s East Farm on Route 108 in Kingston, half mile south of Route 138.
