KINGSTON, R.I. – January 26, 2010 –The University of Rhode Island women’s ice hockey team is inviting youngsters to Try Hockey for Free Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Boss Arena.

As part of Hockey Weekend Across America, children from ages 3 to 7 will be able to try the sport from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. and youngsters 8 and up will be able to play from 7:30 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. The program is being run in conjunction with USA Hockey and is being presented by Reebok.

Those interested may register in advance at mccannurihockey@aol.com or call 401-874-9217. Please provide name and age. Helmets are required, and any types of gloves are recommended. For those who do not have skates, rentals are available at the arena at a cost of $5 a pair. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your child’s ice slot to register.
