Hurricane Sandy: Cancelation Notice

URI cancels classes for Monday, October 29


KINGSTON, R.I. — October 28, 2012 — The University of Rhode Island has canceled classes at all campuses for Monday October 29, due to hurricane Sandy.


URI offices will be open and staff members are expected to report to work. All non-essential staff who wish to stay at home will be required to discharge time under the inclement weather protocol used, if they wish to get compensated for Monday.

Special notice students who reside off-campus:


October 28, 2012 — Both the town of Narragansett and South Kingstown have issued evacuation orders for those living in coastal, low-lying areas. Each town has put in place a deadline of 6 a.m. Monday, October, 29 for evacuation. The designated shelter for both towns is South Kingstown High School, 125 Columbia St., Wakefield. Please see each town’s website for further information.
