The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon, will feature a family scavenger hunt, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Botanical Center for the adults, a Hawaiian dance party for kids, and a workshop for children where they will create small terrariums to take home. A morning snack is included.
“It’s the perfect time of year for families to have a mini-retreat and visit the tropics without leaving Rhode Island,” said Amy Cabaniss, URI outreach educator who is coordinating the event with colleague Sejal Lanterman. “We’ll have family activities as well as opportunities for kids and adults to participate in separate activities. It will be a great time in a beautiful environment that everyone can enjoy.”
