URI Providence Campus to offer four free leadership learning experiences for the community

Each session explores a topic relevant to today’s professional environment; participants can attend in person or via Zoom.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Sept. 24, 2021 — The University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein Providence Campus invites working professionals and prospective students to attend any or all of four Leadership Learning Experiences that will explore practices to assist professionals advance, succeed, and excel in today’s professional work environments.

All sessions are scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m., can be attended in-person at the Feinstein Providence Campus, 80 Washington St., or via Zoom, and are free and open to the public.

The Leadership Learning Experiences include:

Sept. 28 — Communicating Effectively for Enhanced Leadership
Oct. 12 – Leveraging Hope as a Leadership Practice
Nov. 2 — Mindfulness and Contemplative Leadership
Nov. 30 — Cultural Humility for Inclusive Leadership

“Leadership development is a life-long process. These experiences provide a forum for participants to explore four workshop topics that will expand their leadership repertoire and enhance their leadership skills,” said Jonathan Kroll, director of the URI Professional Leadership Studies program. “By infusing their learning into practice, participants of these four leadership experiences will be able to excel in their current leadership endeavors and advance into new leadership opportunities.”

Over the past two years, URI’s School of Professional Studies has launched four new bachelor’s degree programs for adult learners. The Professional Leadership Studies degree, Nonprofit Administration degree, and two Interdisciplinary Studies degrees were designed especially for working professionals in an evolving economic climate and changing workforce, with course structures tailored for adults who are balancing work, home and family obligations.
