Chris Parker is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and Pre-Law Advisor at the University of Rhode Island.

Parker’s research involves analyzing the role of the law, politics, and ideology on the decision making of the American court system. He is particularly interested in how the judiciary treats issues related to federalism, free speech, and the Fourth Amendment.

While Parker has broad experience teaching a wide range of courses in American politics, at URI he teaches courses on constitutional law, civil liberties, and American political parties.  

Research

Judicial politics, decision making on the U.S. Supreme Court, state appellate courts, federalism, search and seizure, public opinion of the judiciary.
