URI Interfaith Festival fosters community, understanding

University of Rhode Island students and community members of diverse faiths and beliefs came together on Thursday, Nov. 9, during the University’s Interfaith Festival. The event, hosted in the Memorial Union Ballroom, was coordinated by URI Hillel, the URI Chaplains Association, the Multicultural Student Services Center, and the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, with support from the Office of Student Affairs, Dining Services, and the Office of Community, Equity, and Diversity.

Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, Protestant, Hindu, and Buddhist student groups and organizations hosted informational tables aimed at sharing diverse traditions and promoting mutual understanding. Dining Services offered a buffet with food items representative of different faiths, including kosher, halal, and vegetarian options.
