Calling all Phi Beta Kappas!

URI’s campus chapter turns 50 soon, let us know if you are a member

March 25, 2024

University of Rhode Island faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, students and local community members who have been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa by any campus chapter across the country are encouraged to let our URI campus chapter know.

Whether you became “Phi Bete” at another institution or were selected right here in Kingston, we want to hear from you as we begin to plan for our URI chapter’s 50th anniversary two years down the road.

Since its founding in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has celebrated excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and championed freedom of thought. As America’s most prestigious academic honor society, it is uniquely equipped to advocate for the value and benefits of liberal arts and sciences education. The need to reaffirm and extol those benefits has never been more acute.

Contact URI Phi Beta Kappa President Cheryl Foster, professor of philosophy and political science, at cherylf@uri.edu, with Phi Beta Kappa in the subject line and your contact information. We’ll be in touch about upcoming events, meetings and campus initiatives.
