College Town Halls

April 4, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

As I shared last fall, the University is embarking on a process to design and adopt a new budget model that will support our ambitious goals in our 10-year strategic plan, Focus URI, and enable us to be the university our state and world need.

The steering and executive committees have worked for many months to support the drafting of the model, and we have planned a series of events to provide the entire community with opportunities to participate in this process.

I am pleased to share that we have town halls scheduled in each of our schools and colleges, where we will share updates, engage in discussion moderated by each dean, and provide opportunities for you to ask questions. I hope all faculty and staff will take the opportunity to join their designated college conversation. Dates, times, and locations for each town hall are below:

We will continue to add more opportunities for engagement throughout the semester. I also encourage you to visit the budget model website, launched in October. It is updated with new information and is an important resource for the community. The site includes a general timeline, rosters for each of the budget model design committees, and a form where people can submit questions.

The collective support, collaboration, and engagement of our entire University community will drive our progress toward a promising future for URI. I look forward to seeing you at one of these town halls.

Kind regards,
Marc
