Sept. 24, 2024
As we enter cold and flu season, and with COVID-19 activity still circulating, it’s important to take proactive steps to stay healthy and protect yourself and our community.
Schedule your flu and COVID vaccines today to protect yourself and those around you. Appointments are available at Health Services as well as at The Wellness Company clinics being held on campus.
1. Free COVID tests are available at the Health Services Pharmacy for students. We provide one test packet per student. You will need your URI student ID.
2. Free COVID tests are also available via the federal government at covidtests.gov.
3. Free and reduced-cost over-the-counter medications for cold, flu, and COVID-19 symptoms are available at the Health Services Pharmacy and at the wellness vending machine which is in the 24-hour room in the library. Stock up on essentials like cough medicine, fever reducers, and more.
4. Visit the CDC website for effective ways to help prevent colds and flu, including washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, etc.
5. Stay home from school or work if you are sick and remain out until you are symptom-free and fever-free for 24 hours.
By taking these steps, you can help reduce the spread of illness on campus and take control of your health.
Stay healthy,
Your Health Services Team
