Any URI student can join the fall 2024 challenge, designed to complement this fall’s Honors Colloquium, “Democracy in Peril.” The challenge is open to any undergraduate or graduate student, from any program or major, and is sponsored by URI’s RISE-UP (Resilient Innovative Sustainable Economies via University Partnerships) initiative.
To participate in the challenge, students must attend two Honors colloquium during the fall 2024 semester and indicate their interest by completing this form. Virtual attendance is allowed. The deadline to apply is Nov. 15.
First-round finalists will be awarded up to $2,000 and be invited to participate in RISE-UP workshops in the spring semester, competing for a grand prize of $5,000 in implementation funds.
