The University of Rhode Island Student Senate is eager to engage a diverse group of students to participate in shaping our campus community and is calling on all eligible students to consider declaring their candidacy to run for a senate seat in advance of March’s upcoming election.
Known as one of the largest and most autonomous student organizations in the state, URI’s Student Senate controls funding for student organizations, provides resources for student programming, and advocates for students on the University, local, state, and national levels.
The deadline for announcing your candidacy is Thursday, March 6 at 5 p.m.
Key Details:
- Come to the Student Senate office to sign a declaration form, show your URI Student ID, and get the appropriate amount of signatures found in the Spring 2025 Election Declaration Packet
- Fill out the Student Senate Declaration of Intent Google Form to select which senator position(s) you wish to run for and your Candidate Platform Statement
- Read the Campaign Guide for important tips on navigating the declaration and election process

URI Student Senate elections will take place beginning Tuesday, March 25, at 8 a.m. through Thursday, March 27, at 5 p.m. Students may register their vote via URInvolved.
