Dear URI Employees,
The State of Rhode Island is embarking on a journey toward modernizing its administrative systems. Later this year, the state will introduce a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system—RI ERP—that will simplify and streamline processes across finance functions, human resources, and payroll. I wanted to share briefly an update of this state project.
The new state ERP will be introduced in phases; the Finance system will go live in July 2025 and the Human Capital Management (HCM)/Payroll launch will happen in fall 2025.
URI Impact
The RI ERP project brings minimal changes for URI employees relative to the changes for employees at other state agencies.
Finance: With the initial launch of Finance in July 2025, the impact on URI will be to operational activities in strategic procurement, budget reporting, and financial accounting. The state project team is working with URI representatives to ensure training is completed prior to the go-live date.
Human Resources (HCM) and Payroll: With the launch of HCM/Payroll in fall 2025, the impact to URI state employees will be primarily focused on access to paystubs, benefits information and enrollment, and direct deposit selections. Time entry will remain in eCampus. More information and training will be shared as we get closer to the introduction of the new RI ERP.
Note that this change is for URI state employees only. Employees on internal payroll are not affected.
Introducing Project Change Ambassadors
Kayla Lombardi and Ginny Byrnes are the Project Change Ambassadors for URI. Please feel free to email them any questions you may have about the RI ERP timeline or implementation at erp-ambassadors-group@uri.edu.
More Information
You can find more information on the RI ERP website, which will continue to be updated to reflect changes as we move forward. There is a Higher Ed menu option that focuses on information most relevant to URI.
These changes are designed to make your work life easier by reducing our reliance on multiple outdated systems and eliminating manual paper processing.
URI is also actively exploring modernizing our own ERP system to align with the new RI ERP system. We will share more information about that process in the coming months. Please contact Kayla and Ginny with any questions and thank you for all you do on behalf of our University and the students we serve.
Best regards,
Abby Benson
Vice President for Administration and Finance
