May 25, 2025
We’re excited to welcome our incoming class and their families to the University community this month. More than 3,300 students and 2,500 family members have registered to attend one of our eight two-day orientation sessions starting this Thursday, May 29 and running through Friday, June 27.
To manage the influx of these guests as a community, there will be one-way traffic beginning at the intersection of Campus Avenue and Lower College Road onto Butterfield Road, ending at the intersection of Butterfield Road and Complex Road (by the Potter Building) on the following days and times:
*Monday and Thursday mornings from 7:45 – 9 a.m.
Additionally, students and families will be departing campus and picking up students in the same one-way traffic configuration (including Quarry Road and Fraternity Circle) on the following days and times:
*Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 2:30 – 4 p.m.
If you’d like information about the orientation schedule, locations and activities, please visit https://web.uri.edu/orientation for details.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
Sincerely,
Office of New Student Transitions
