Applications open for Cooperative Extension fellowship programs

Sept. 18, 2025

Year-long Cooperative Extension Fellowships are now open for application — apply by Oct. 24!

Applications are now being accepted for the University’s:

Agriculture and Food System Fellows Program
Energy Fellows Program
Environmental Management Fellows Program

Student participants in any of the year-long fellowship programs listed above are matched with a professional mentor to work 500 paid hours on a real-world project that has a positive impact on our local food system, our energy system, environmental protection and climate resilience.

In addition to the paid internship, students:

  1. Earn three academic credits for professional development training through ITR 301 – Field Experience I;
  2. Participate in industry-led weekly Summer Industry Trainings that feature micro-lectures, site visits and service learning opportunities; and
  3. Begin to build a professional network in their field of interest through interactions with professionals.

Students in all academic majors are encouraged to apply — a passion for sustainability and a strong desire to gain professional experience are the only prerequisites. Learn more and apply by Oct. 24 for a program that starts in January 2026.
