Bike path closure, Family Weekend and game day parking and relocation guidelines

Oct. 17, 2025

Please be aware of the following changes related to student parking and use of the URI Bike Path in advance of Family Weekend, which begins Oct. 24, and the URI home football game against Bryant University, scheduled Saturday, Oct. 25.

Bike Path Closure
The section of the URI Bike Path that runs through Meade Stadium will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. The north and south gates of Meade Stadium will be locked. The bike path gates will reopen on Sunday morning.

Student Parking Lot Closures
Students parked in the southeast corner of Plains Road Lot 25 must move their vehicles by Thursday, October 23, 2025 by 8 p.m. Vehicles in this area after 8 p.m. will be subject to citation and towing at owner’s expense.

For Saturday, Oct. 25, the following parking lots will be closed:

  • Keaney Lot 26: Lot closes at 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24
  • Ram Lot 23: Lot closes at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24

Relocation Parking Lots
Students who have parking permits for Lot 25, Plains Road or Lot 26, Keaney may start relocating their vehicles at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, to the following lots on campus:

  • Lot 20, Flagg Rd
  • Lot 21, Flagg Rd
  • Lot 6, Fine Arts South
  • Lot 7, Fine Arts North

Please view the campus map to review all relocation lots.

Violation of Parking and Relocation Guidelines
It is an essential component of the game day experience that students with vehicles in Lot 25 or Lot 26 relocate by the determined time. Any car remaining in a closed lot after the closure time is subject to citation and towing at the owner’s expense.

Following Game Day
Registered vehicles may return to their designated lots 2 hours after the game ends. All registered vehicles must be parked back in their assigned parking lot by 7 a.m. on Monday following the game to avoid receiving a citation.

Thank you for your cooperation and Go Rhody!
