Dear URI Students,

The URI Police Department and Transportation and Parking (TAP) have recently become aware of a phishing scam targeting first-year students. The scammer claims to be able to get you a parking permit for the academic year by putting your vehicle’s information under their account in return for money.

The only way to obtain a parking permit at any time is by using your SSO to log in to the AIMS student portal or by contacting the TAP office directly.

If anyone reaches out to you offering a parking permit, please report them to the URI Police Dept (Det. Brasil: 401-874-5580) or TAP (874-9281) immediately. Do not send personal information, identification, money or contact information.

A friendly reminder that permits are non-transferable, non-shareable and can be revoked by TAP at any time.
