KINGSTON, R.I. – Dec. 9, 2025 – The University of Rhode Island College of Business is proud to announce that its marketing major has received full accreditation from the Digital Marketing Institute. DMI is the global standard in digital marketing certification.
As part of the accreditation, graduating marketing students will now have a dual, industry-recognized certification from the Digital Marketing Institute and the American Marketing Association, offering URI graduates a competitive edge. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Marketing, URI students will earn the following certifications:
- Certified Digital Marketing Professional – from the Digital Marketing Institute
- Professional Certified Marketer®, Digital Marketing – from the American Marketing Association
These globally recognized credentials signal that URI students not only understand the digital marketing landscape but can deliver and provide real world results. This accreditation allows URI to continue to close the gap between academia and industry, giving employers job-ready talent and students and their families a high return on their educational investment.
The DMI curriculum is co-developed by a global advisory council that includes leaders from Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and other global agencies.

This milestone in the college’s history reflects URI’s commitment to preparing graduates for their careers through hands-on learning, employer-aligned curriculum, and industry partnerships, which are key pillars of the College of Business’s strategic commitment to innovation, impact, and experience.
Graduates will also receive access to professional membership in DMI’s Knowledge Center. The Knowledge Center offers cutting-edge tools, templates, webinars, and thought leadership from brands such as Google, LinkedIn, and X. After two years, students will retain lifetime access at the basic membership level.
