Dear URI Community,
At the University of Rhode Island, our commitment to promoting equal opportunity and accessibility for all goes beyond compliance; it is a foundational value that shapes how we serve each other.

Technical Assistance Resources:
- As you plan events on behalf of the University, consider the University of Rhode Island Event Planning Accessibility Toolkit, which provides a general framework to support you and your team in ensuring events meet general accessibility standards.
- The University of Rhode Island’s language access website includes a list of vendors you may engage for interpretation and translation services for languages other than English, as well as American Sign Language (ASL).
- Consider saving the Adverse Weather Accessibility Guidelines in preparation for the fall and winter seasons. The Policy on Adverse Weather and Other Emergencies is also available as a resource.
We hope you find the information helpful as you refer students, staff, research participants, and members of the public to the appropriate department or office if concerns are brought to your attention.
