Public Safety Advisory Committee to hold meeting Oct. 8

Oct. 1, 2026

The Public Safety Advisory Committee will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m., in the Carlotti Administration Building, Conference Room 221.

The committee is charged with advising and providing recommendations to the Department of Public Safety and its various units—including the URI Police Department, Transportation and Parking, and Emergency Management—as well as University leadership regarding the department’s programming and operational activities.

The committee provides a forum for broad stakeholder engagement and collaborative, community perspectives on issues related to public safety. The public is encouraged to provide input on topics to be addressed by the committee. The committee welcomes your input regarding campus safety and security as well the operations of any areas under the Department of Public Safety’s jurisdiction. Community members are invited to complete a form to submit recommendations and feedback.

This advisory committee serves as an important link between the University community and the URI Police Department and public safety units and works to ensure the views of the community are included in discussions about public safety on our campuses.
