Participate in December’s WinterFest

August 26, 2026

With URI Football set to play home games at Centreville Bank Stadium for the upcoming season, Homecoming will look a little different. This year, Homecoming will be a season of events beginning with an alumni bus trip to the Governor’s Cup (URI vs. Brown) football game in Pawtucket on Oct. 3 and ending with the URI vs. Providence College rivalry basketball game in December.

The URI Foundation is replacing the traditional Rhodyville block party with a special indoor WinterFest event before the URI vs. PC basketball game on Dec. 5. WinterFest will be held in Keaney Gym and will feature food, giveaways, entertainment, alumni-owned business vendors, and more.

Get Involved!
Colleges and campus partners are invited to participate in WinterFest by hosting a booth. We encourage you to create fun, interactive experiences for attendees such as crafts, DIY activities, games, challenges—any hands-on ways to highlight your college/department’s work.

Let us know about any special event you plan to host that weekend, such as an open house, tour, performance, lecture, or reunion. The foundation will be promoting a calendar of events open to alumni/visitors during WinterFest Weekend (the first weekend in December) to showcase URI and celebrate the innovation, creativity, and community that make our campus special.

How to Sign Up
Departments that would like to host an activity at WinterFest or are planning events during WinterFest Weekend are asked to complete this form by Sunday, Nov. 1, to be included in the promotion schedule for the weekend.

Be sure to follow the Homecoming page for regular updates.
