Learn from the Ultimate Networkers at URI on Feb. 5

KINGSTON, R.I., Jan. 23, 2014 – The University of Rhode Island is offering the chance to learn from the ultimate networkers. If you’re looking for a job or want to make the most of your LinkedIn account, you won’t want to miss a chance to meet author Daniel Seddiqui and LinkedIn’s Chris Keneally on Feb. 5.


This networking event is sponsored by URI’s College of Business Administration, which is celebrating 90 years of academic excellence, and University College, which is introducing the Center for Career & Experiential Education.


Seddiqui wrote 50 Jobs in 50 States – One Man’s Journey of Discovery Across America and is considered a job-hunting expert and cultural analyst. In 50 weeks, he worked a staggering 50 jobs in 50 different states, from a lobsterman in Maine to a cheese maker in Wisconsin. His story has been featured on CNN, Fox News, The Today Show, and many more.


Keneally, who graduated from URI’s College of Business Administration in 1995, is a sales solutions account executive for LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with 250 million members. A former football player, Phi Kappa Psi member, and commodities trader, he assists financial services companies in using the full potential of social media to help them expand and succeed.


The Feb. 5 event will be in Edwards Auditorium on the Kingston campus. At 3 p.m., Keneally will speak on “Why You Need to be on LinkedIn.” Seddiqui will speak at 4:15 p.m. on “Lessons from the World’s Most Ambitious Job Applicant.” From 3 to 5 p.m. in Edwards Auditorium, a photo booth will be available to update your LinkedIn photo. The event is free and open to the public.
