Crossing Currents: Feminism Now, at URI Feinstein Providence Campus March 1-31

PROVIDENCE, R. I. — February 25, 2011 — The University of Rhode Island Feinstein Providence Campus, in collaboration with the Hera Gallery and The Hive Archive, 2 dynamic Rhode Island women artists collectives, will present “Crossing Currents: Feminism Now” in honor of Women’s History month.


The exhibit includes art and art installations in all media with work by Alexandra Broches, Carl Dimitri, Cynthia Farnell, Claudia Flynn, Jeannette Jacobs, John Kotula, Elizabeth Lind, Ambuja Magaji, Barbara Pagh, Roberta Richman, Kim Salerno, Mara Trachtenberg, Troy West, Michael Yefko from Hera Gallery and. Taleen Batalian, Mary Jane Bohlen, Jenine Bressner, Margie Butler, Alma Carrillo, Joanna Read Cotter, Amy Wynne Derry, Jo Dery, Lindsey Elgin, Bobbie Friedman, Lila Jarzombeck, Laura Kalman, Delia Kovac, Ju-Pong Lin, Adj Marshall, Francoise McAree, Carole Ann Penney, Karen Philippi, Jennifer Raimondi, Moira Richardson, Betsy Ritz, Lisa Russell, Anna Shapiro, Monica Shinn, Alyssa Holland Short, Rebecca Siemering, Susannah Strong, Millee Tibbs, Jae Wyllie Willard from the Hive.

  • March 9, a concert entitled “Voices of Hope: Women for Inspiration” will be held at 7 pm
  • Short film series, Friday March 18, 7 p.m., with works by Jo Dery, Ju-Pong Lin, Ambuja Magaji
