URI Earth Day celebration to include tree-planting ceremony, April 21

WHO: URI President David Dooley, Vice President Robert Weygand, members of Student Action for Sustainability, along with faculty, staff and students.


WHAT: A celebration of Earth Day featuring a student-organized festival, including educational exhibits, workshops, vendors and live music, and a tree planting ceremony led by President Dooley and Vice President Weygand.


WHEN: Thursday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tree planting ceremony takes place at noon.


WHERE: The festival is on the Quadrangle near the corner of Upper College Road and Ranger Road, Kingston. The tree planting is in the courtyard between Swan Hall and Green Hall, just off the Quad.
