Comedian Jay Mohr to perform at URI on Dec. 4

KINGSTON, R.I. — November 27, 2001 — Comedian and Saturday Night Live alum Jay Mohr will be bringing on the laughs at the University of Rhode Island on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 9 p.m. His appearance is sponsored by URI’s Student Entertainment Committee.

Mohr will perform at Edwards Auditorium of URI’s Kingston Campus. Tickets are $8 for URI students and $16 for the general public. There will be an opening act.

Mohr is famous for his memorable roles in such movies as Pay It Forward, Go, Jane Austen’s Mafia and Jerry Maguire. His television credits include Action, Saturday Night Live and many guest appearances.

On Saturday Night Live, Mohr received attention for his impersonations of actors Christopher Walken and Sean Penn. He performed on the comedy show from 1993 to 1995.
Mohr’s television guest appearances include The Simpsons, The Family Guy and The Jeff Foxworthy Show.

Mohr has performed stand-up comedy at many colleges, comedy clubs and television forums such as Evening at the Improv and Two Drink Minimum.
