URI alumna recognized as ‘Exceptional’ by New York Public Relations Society of America chapter

KINGSTON, R.I. – June 28, 2019 – University of Rhode Island alumna Alexandra Oppenheimer Delvito was recently honored by the New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America at its Big Apple Awards in New York City. Delvito and several others were named ‘Exceptionals Under 35’ award winners. The award documents the accomplishments, creativity and drive that today’s young communications practitioners show and recognizes those who are changing the landscape of the industry.

Delvito is a registered dietitian and vice president at Pollock Communications, a food, health and wellness public relations agency in New York City. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and dietetics and a minor in kinesiology. Delvito also received the President’s Award for Student Excellence at URI and completed a dietetic internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital to become a registered dietitian. She also earned a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from New York University.

At Pollock Communications, Delvito creates, manages and leads the execution of strategic programs reaching consumers, industry, food service, school nutrition, and health care professionals. In her years in public relations, she has been the team leader of several award-winning programs.

Delvito now resides in Mamaroneck, New York, with her husband.
