Brad Sherman ’88 started working at URI in 1973 as a laborer in Athletics and then as a custodial supervisor in the Memorial Union. While working full time at URI, he says, “I started to take classes, enjoyed them, and took more. After about eight years of working nights and taking classes during the day, I graduated with a degree in studio art!”
Now retired, he enjoys taking photos around South County., R.I. Sherman says, “This photo was taken at a marina near Charlestown Beach. There is a small bridge there, where I sometimes meet friends in the evenings to take photos of the great sunsets. It’s not just the actual sunset that is so nice, it’s the changes in the colors of the sky after the sunset.”
Sherman’s photos are often featured on the weather segment of the evening news on NBC 10 WJAR (Providence). He belongs to the Wickford Art Association and the South County Art Association and also enjoys painting in acrylics.
